IELTS PREPARATION COURSE FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

Doctors and Nurses

It is a professional requirement than non UK healthcare professionals have a standard of English which is assessed by the IELTS testing system.

This may be a good way to test language level however it does not prepare you for UK Cultural norms and colloquial language that you will find working in a busy hospital in the UK both in the public and private sector. Never fear! We have designed a course for you where you learn the skills of the IELTS test and about living and working in the UK.

  • This course is for healthcare professionals seeking work in the UK or who are already working in the UK.
  • We can offer an intensive immersion course to fast track you to success or a longer course to fit in with your work schedule.
  • Our English for Healthcare Professionals course is designed to enhance communication skills and equip foreign professionals with specialist English language knowledge of the healthcare environment to enable them to work more confidently in their job.

Features

At Heritage English we have designed a course to help fast track you to success in your IELTS score as well as training you in cultural linguistic practices such as:

  • Understanding non-verbal communication in the UK
  • To read and respond effectively to the subtleties of language

Doctors

“To book your place to take PLAB you must, among other things, show us you have the necessary knowledge of English. IELTS is an English Language test administered by the British Council, IDP Education Australia and Cambridge ESOL.

“For us to accept your IELTS certificate it must show that you got a score of at least 7.0 in each testing area (speaking, listening, reading and writing), and an overall score of 7.5. (http://www.gmc-uk.org/)

  • Nurses

“It is a requirement of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The NMC is the regulator for all nurses and midwives in the UK. All nurses and midwives who want to work in the UK must register with the NMC, who will give you a PIN number. Nurses from outside the EU will not get a PIN number unless they have an IELTS level 7.0 or above. Without a PIN number you cannot work as a nurse or a midwife in the UK”.( http://www.mgmedical.co.uk/)
