Location

Location of Heritage English, LymingtonHeritage English offers total immersion one-to-one language courses based at Newlands Manor, Lymington, on the South Coast of England. Situated between Bournemouth and Southampton and opposite the beautiful Isle of Wight, Lymington is a busy market town with many specialist shops, coffee bars, traditional pubs and a yacht marina for sailing enthusiasts..

How to get here

Lymington Yacht Marina It is easy to reach Lymington by air, sea or rail.

Students can fly to Heathrow, Gatwick, and Luton or Stansted airports and be in Lymington within a few hours.

Alternatively, there are two local airports at Southampton or Bournemouth which are both just 45 minutes away by car.

From Europe, it is possible to take the Eurostar train to Waterloo Station in London and a fast train from Waterloo will take you directly to our local station in 90 minutes.

Ferries from Europe stop at Portsmouth or Poole where we can meet you.

Places to visit

Local beachesThe beautiful sandy beaches of Bournemouth are only 45 minutes away by car. Bournemouth also has a lively shopping centre with bars, clubs and theatres. It is possible in one day to visit the historic cities of Bath, Winchester and Salisbury.

The New Forest is a National Park located to the north of Lymington. In reality it is nearly 1,000 years old. Governed by ancient laws and grazed by ponies, cattle, pigs and donkeys, the New Forest covers 220 square miles or 57,000 hectares.

It is possible to cycle, ride a horse, or simply enjoy the landscape and the wild ponies or highland cattle that will walk in front of your car without any warning!

There is a ferry which crosses the water from Lymington to the Isle of Wight. This is a great day out for students. There is a funfair on the island, but a hair-raising ride on the open top double-decker bus to the famous Needles rocks is an unforgettable experience! The views are spectacular.

Christchurch is another historic town where students can enjoy a walk round the grounds of the Priory or take a chance with the swans that populate the waterside area.
