Homestay English language courses - Academic/exam students
Example of a typical day for academic/exam students
Academic and exam students who are taking an immersion English course to achieve a special target will have lessons tailored to their level and specific academic needs.
The day will begin after breakfast when students study at their host family home, or at their tutor’s home according to their pre-designed course programme. > Accommodation
After the lessons and lunch (we are usually very hungry by 1 o’clock) these students can be quite independent in ways of spending their free time.
In the afternoons, their free time can be spent exploring Milford village, walking on the beach, visiting local attractions or they can take a bus or train into Lymington, Bournemouth or Southampton for shopping, bars and beaches.
It is possible to take the train to London at the weekend and spend the day visiting all those wonderful famous places. > Location
Study and the effort of listening and speaking leaves most students quite tired at the end of the day, but sometimes (when the English weather is kind) a beach barbeque is a popular night out.
Exam students
Students who are about to take an important exam, and require an intensive immersion study course to prepare for the exam, may want extra lessons after lunch. Time will also be needed for private study in the evening. In such cases, outings and leisure activities will be restricted to one afternoon only and possibly a trip to a local pub at the end of the week as a treat after all the hard work!
Each person is different and if you want to talk about your particular needs, then we are able to design a timetable to suit you both in and out of lessons. All you have to do is to > contact us and we will do our best to please.
"The extra lessons really helped improve my English. I got exam marks much higher than I thought I would get! Thank you Celia and Gail. "
